An Evening with Joe Locke and Arizona School for the Arts
This event has been graciously sponsored by the Arizona School for the Arts Advisory Council.
Joe Locke (Vibraphonist, Composer, Educator) will take the stage with students from Arizona School for the Arts for a memorable evening of music at the Phoenix Art Museum. This show will delight music lovers of all ages.  Mr. Locke will also be joined on stage by members of Arizona State University's Jazz Faculty. Proceeds benefit Arizona School for the Arts.

Joe Locke is widely considered to be one of the major voices of his instrument. With his stylistic depth and multi-faceted projects, Locke has transcended his past reputation as a post-bop instrumentalist, demonstrating a more complete musical picture that includes everything from melodic chamber jazz to compositions that bridge the gap between post-bop and a more lyrical contemporary style. Locke has recorded over 30 albums as a soloist band leader, ranging from ground breaking collaborations like The Joe Locke / Geoffrey Keezer Group, the critically acclaimed quartets 4 Walls Of Freedom and Force of Four; to the Lincoln Nebraska Symphony Orchestra and performances with the Airmen Of Note and the M√ľnster Symphony Orchestra to name just a few.

Locke has won numerous awards and polls, including the 2006, 2008 and 2009 "Mallet Player of the Year" award from the Jazz Journalists Association. He is active as a clinician/educator and has been awarded the title of Honorary Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (London) for his role as International Vibraphone Consultant on a visiting basis since 2008.
